PROJECT 6017: An early 90s home was transformed into a cozy contemporary oasis better suited to its current inhabitants’ needs. Multiple walls and a closet were removed to open up the kitchen to the dining. Within the living space, the existing 8’ ceiling was removed and raised, and skylights were installed to welcome sunlight. The fireplace was extended to the new ceiling height, and tiled in a matte black as a nod to the mid-century undertones of the design.
